Terms of Service | Creatively Done Homes Improvements

Overview

These Terms of Service govern the relationship between Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “the Company”) and homeowners (“you” or “the Client”) who engage our services. By signing a project contract or authorizing work to begin, you agree to these terms. These terms apply to all home remodeling, renovation, millwork, and related services provided by Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc.

Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. is located at 104 Jerusalem Ave., Hicksville NY 11801. You can reach us at 516-470-1961 or kevin@creativelydoneremodeling.com.

Scope of Work

All work performed by Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. is defined in a written project estimate or contract provided to you prior to the start of work. The scope includes only the work specifically described in that document. Any work outside the agreed scope requires a written change order signed by both parties before additional work begins.

We reserve the right to decline any project or scope of work at our discretion.

Estimates and Pricing

All estimates are provided in writing and itemize the work to be performed. Estimates are based on conditions visible and accessible at the time of the in-home assessment. Conditions discovered after work begins — including but not limited to concealed structural damage, outdated wiring, deteriorated plumbing, pest damage, or subfloor issues — may affect the final cost. If unexpected conditions are discovered during construction, we will notify you before proceeding with any additional work and provide a written change order for your approval.

We do not lowball estimates to win projects and adjust later. Our estimates reflect our honest assessment of the work required.

Deposits and Payment

Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. does not require a deposit to begin work. We do not believe in collecting money before delivering value. Payment terms are outlined in your written project contract and are typically structured around project milestones.

Payment is due per the schedule outlined in your contract. Late payments may result in a pause in work until the account is brought current.

Custom Material Orders

Some projects require custom materials — including custom cabinetry, specialty millwork components, fabricated countertops, or special-order fixtures — that must be ordered before work begins. When custom materials are required, payment for those materials may be requested prior to ordering. This is limited strictly to the cost of the materials themselves and will be clearly identified in your written estimate.

Custom material orders are non-refundable once placed, as these items are fabricated specifically for your project and cannot be returned or resold.

Change Orders

Any changes to the agreed scope of work — including additions, deletions, or modifications — must be documented in a written change order and approved by both parties before the additional work proceeds. Verbal agreements for scope changes are not binding and will not be honored at project completion.

Change orders protect both parties. They ensure you know exactly what additional work costs before it happens, and they ensure we are compensated for work outside the original scope. We will never surprise you with charges for work you did not authorize in writing.

Cancellation

Either party may cancel a project before work begins by providing written notice. Because we do not require a deposit, there is no financial obligation to you if you cancel before work starts — no strings attached.

If you cancel after custom materials have been ordered specifically for your project at your direction, you are responsible for the cost of those materials as outlined in your contract. Material costs are non-refundable once orders are placed.

If work has already begun and you choose to cancel, payment is due for all work completed to that point, plus the cost of any materials purchased for the project. We will provide a final invoice reflecting completed work and materials upon cancellation.

Workmanship Warranty

Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. warrants all labor and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of project completion. If a defect in our workmanship is identified within this period, we will return to assess and correct the issue at no charge.

This warranty covers defects in workmanship only. It does not cover:

Manufacturer warranties on cabinets, tile, fixtures, appliances, and other installed products are transferred to you at project completion. We will provide documentation for any applicable manufacturer warranties upon request.

Permits and Code Compliance

Kevin identifies what permits are needed during the estimate and advises on the full process. Most homeowners file the permit application themselves to save the cost — or we can connect you with an expediter who handles it for you. All work performed by Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. is completed in accordance with applicable building codes and permit requirements for your municipality.

Licensed electricians and licensed plumbers handle all electrical and plumbing work under Kevin’s direct supervision. All mechanical work is permitted and inspected as required by your local building department.

Limitation of Liability

Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. is fully licensed and insured in Nassau County, New York. Our liability is limited to the value of the work performed under your project contract. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions in your home that are unrelated to our scope of work, or for damage caused by conditions that were concealed and not discoverable during the estimate.

We are not liable for delays caused by permit approval timelines, material lead times, weather, or other conditions outside our control.

Disputes

We have been in business since 1986 and take pride in resolving any concerns directly and promptly. If you have a concern about your project, please contact us first at 516-470-1961 or kevin@creativelydoneremodeling.com — the vast majority of issues are resolved quickly through direct communication.

If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, you may contact the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs at nassaucountyny.gov. Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. is a Nassau County licensed contractor and operates within their jurisdiction and guidelines.
