It Started as a Bedroom. It Became the Whole House.

A Jericho homeowner called for a master bedroom remodel — three weeks of work. When Kevin and Matthew finished, the family asked them to stay. The job grew into a four-month whole-house project.

Every bedroom got new trim, base, doors, and crown. The great hall and lower hallway got raised-panel wainscoting with custom inset panels. The same panels ran the full height of the stair wall. Two bathrooms were gutted and rebuilt. The house was painted when the carpentry was done. Scope grew because the work held up, not because we sold a package. That is what whole-home remodeling looks like when one crew owns structure and finish. More of that millwork is in the gallery.

Walls, Additions, Basements, and Attics

If the job changes the house — a wall, a layout, a finished basement, an attic, a room addition — it belongs here. We review structure first. Licensed trades handle electrical and plumbing under Kevin’s supervision. We do not list roofing, window replacement, HVAC, or basement waterproofing as services.

Open Floor Plans & Multi-Room Work

Kitchen, living, and dining done together so flooring, electrical, and trim meet in one plane. Load-bearing wall removal gets an engineered LVL or steel beam, stamped drawings when required, and a Town of Oyster Bay or Town of Hempstead permit when the wall carries load.

Basement Finishing, Attics, Additions

We finish basements, convert attics, and build room additions when the structure will take it. That is not the lead offer on this site, and it is not a separate URL. Kevin checks joists, headroom, egress, and bearing before anyone writes a number. Waterproofing a wet basement is not this work.

Finish After the Structure

Kevin, Matthew, and team build the millwork that follows — wainscoting, built-ins, fireplace walls, crown. If you are not taking walls down and only want that finish work, use home renovations.

Why Nassau County Homeowners Choose Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc.

1

One Team, Whole House

Multi-room work needs one crew on structure, mechanicals, and finish. Kevin runs the trades and does the critical carpentry himself.

2

40+ Years on These Houses

Post-war ranches, splits, and Capes. Kevin has 40+ years of hands-on experience in that stock. In business since 1986.

3

Structure and Finish, Same Hands

The crew that sizes the beam also builds the wainscoting. No framing-to-finish handoff.

How Our Home Remodeling Process Works

1

Whole-Home Assessment

Kevin walks the house — framing, panel, plumbing, foundation. You hear which walls can move and what the budget will actually cover.

2

Scope, Estimate & Permits

Written estimate by room and trade. Kevin flags which permits apply. Most owners file themselves. We can point you to an expediter.

3

Phased Construction

Structure and mechanicals first, then finish room by room. Licensed trades stay under Kevin’s supervision.

Home Remodeling FAQs

How much does home remodeling cost in Nassau County?

A two-room renovation starts around $50,000 to $80,000. A whole-house job with structural work, two bathrooms, and millwork throughout can run $150,000 to $250,000 or more. Cost follows room count, wall removal, electrical and plumbing, and finish grade. You get a written estimate after Kevin walks the house — not a phone-book number.

How long does a multi-room renovation take?

Usually 10 to 16 weeks. Structural wall removal adds 2–4 weeks for permit approval before demo. Custom cabinets and tops add lead time. Work is phased so the whole house is not open at once.

Can I live in my home during a major renovation?

Most families stay. Dust walls stay up. Daily cleanup. If the only kitchen or bathroom is in the work zone, we set up a temporary setup. Some people leave during structural demo. They do not have to leave for the whole job.

Should I renovate one room at a time or do everything at once?

Connected rooms should be done together. When a wall comes down, floor, electrical, and trim have to land as one system. Piecemeal work means tearing finished floors later. Kevin will say if your house is the exception.

Do I need permits for home remodeling in Nassau County?

Structural work, electrical upgrades, and plumbing changes need a permit from the Town of Oyster Bay or the Town of Hempstead. Paint, flooring, and cabinet swaps usually do not. Kevin names the permits at estimate. Most owners file. We can send you to an expediter. Required work gets inspected and documented.

Do you finish basements, attics, and additions?

Yes — when the structure will take it. Those jobs sit on this page, not on a new URL and not on the finish-work renovations page. Kevin checks joists, headroom, and egress before anyone writes a price. We do not waterproof wet basements as a service.

What does a whole-home job actually look like?

See the Jericho job at the top of this page. Bedroom first. Four months later, trim, wainscoting, two bathrooms, paint. Gallery has the millwork photos.
